We are very delighted to announce that The Murlocs will release their third album ‘Old Locomotive’ on July 28th, 2017 on Flightless Records. The album is 13 tracks of blistering rock n roll - full of vintage hooks, twists and grooves and mind-melting guitar and harmonica licks.

Singer and lyricist Ambrose Kenny-Smith says the album stands against “rocknroll extinction” and that each song touches on abandonment and the "continuous search for a better alternative".

"In todays future of webcam music, conventional bands might often be seen as a dying breed. The power of this harsh reality can sometimes leave us tainted as we’re left to harvest that dead feeling inside. ‘Old Locomotive’ stands against rocknroll extinction. From start to finish each song approaches the face of abandonment and the continuous search for a better alternative.” he says.

The album was produced by King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard frontman Stu Mackenzie and recorded at Flightless HQ.

With the announcement comes a brand new video for 'Oblivion', featuring live footage from The Murlocs recent sold out single tour and various trips around the globe. Made by repeat collaboratorAlex McLaren, it provides a beautiful snapshot of life on the road.

Recently announced for the 2017 Splendour in the Grass line-up, The Murlocs will launch ‘Old Locomotive’ in August, with their biggest national tour to date.

Brisbane, QLD  4006 Map

Sureshaker are excited to announce the Bootleg Rascal Australian Single Tour in August 2017.

The journey for the Bootleg boys has been a wild ride thus far to say the least - and it’s showing no signs of slowing down, with an album slated in for late 2017. Having recently toured sold out shows around the country, playing at the Big Pineapple Festival, and headlining the annualSureshaker Shake'n'Bake,
Bootleg Rascal have now been hard at work polishing off their second album with long time collaborator, Ian Pritchett.

Their latest single 'With You' was released to a great reception, and featured frequent rotation on Triple J.
Listen Here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mRj5DYFq_rQ

The upcoming record emphasises their melodic knack and explores a recent Rascal obsession for 80's synth sounds and crunchy, old school drum machines. With splashes of Kid Cudi and Massive Attack, their new record is set to be an extension of everything we’ve come to love about the band, while delivering a new depth of maturity and some of their best song writing to date.

Sydney's With Confidence have announced they will be heading out on their only Australian tour in 2017 this August. Joining them on home soil will be Seaway (Canada) and WSTR (UK).

After a wildly successful 2016 that saw With Confidence drop their debut album, Better Weather, which landed at #22 on the ARIA Album Chart and as well as #30 on the Top New Artist and #11 on the Alternative New Artists Charts in the US, the boys also played their very first Vans Warped Tour and scored a highly covered support slot on the 5 Seconds of Summer Australian tour.

With Confidence will return to Australia this August hot off a US tour with State Champs, as well an appearance on Slam Dunk Festival in the UK where the band have also been wowing audiences at their own sold out headline shows and and landing on the cover of Kerrang! and Rock Sound magazines.

Canada's Seaway is a five-member band that makes exuberant punk-pop and emo-rock. Formed in Ontario in 2011, Seaway recorded several EPs before putting out their debut full length Hoser in 2013 and follow up Colour Blind in 2015. The band have clocked up the kilometres with the likes of The Wonder Years, Moose Blood, Real Friends and will make their Australian debut with With Confidence this August.

Hailing from the Liverpool, WSTR enjoyed a very swift rise in the UK pop-punk scene, landing a record deal before they had even played their very first show. WSTR released their debut album Red, Green or Inbetween in January 2017, which takes its cues from scene veterans Blink 182, Sum 41 and New Found Glory.

Australia’s loudest griddle cake enthusiasts Psychedelic Porn Crumpets have already been through a well-storied existence. Steaming out the blocks in 2015, the band immediately made heads turn, nod and then contemplate space in their hometown of Perth. They quickly released their debut album, ‘High Visceral {Part One}’ which saw PPC supporting the likes of King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard, Dune Rats, Black Mountain, Skegss and completing their first national tour. Their sophomore album High Visceral {Part Two} was released in late April and gained international recognition (mad shakas) after their second national tour around Australia was met with sold out crowds.

The trippy-smut-muffins are traveling the desert once more to share their latest creation What Reality? Records, an independent record label which aims to spread the grass roots of Australia’s local riff-wizardry scene’s and connect hard working bands with eager ears to fuzz down.

____________________________________________
Go grab a functioning liver while you can, as DEEZ NUTS are set to binge and purge their way around Australia this August!
In support of their brand new album Binge & Purgatory (see what we did there) – available worldwide via Century Media – DEEZ NUTS will be taking in dates across Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Newcastle, Sydney and Brisbane, where they’ll be backed by a who’s who of Australia’s heaviest up and comers , including VOID OF VISION, DREGG and BEERWOLF.

Written in and inspired by the cultural mecca that is New York City, Binge & Purgatory is the band’s most accomplished and hard-hitting work to date, one that boasts guest appearances from some of the biggest names in modern hardcore. Terror’s Scott Vogel lends his pipes to “Antidote,” while “Lesson’s Learned” features the one and only Jamey Jasta of Hatebreed.

Binge & Purgatory is more than a collection of high-profile names though, with DEEZ NUTS founder JJ Peters adamant that is the band’s most “concise and deliberate” work to date. Produced by the members themselves – in a collaborative manner with their long-time friend, Andrew Neufeld, of Comeback Kid – and engineered by Shane Frisbee (The Ghost Inside, Bury Your Dead), Binge & Purgatory is a must have for fans and newcomers alike.
Joining DEEZ NUTS will be Melbourne young guns, VOID OF VISION, who are currently riding their own wave of success, both at home and abroad. Their UNFD debut, Children Of Chrome, immediately connected with the heavy music community, which enabled VOV to take off on their first overseas jaunt (supporting Chelsea Grin throughout Europe), while a recent sold-out trek with US outfit I Prevail has further added to their already-stellar reputation.

DREGG’S unique brand of hip hop and thrash metal may not make sense on paper, but it’s the live arena where these Melbournians truly shine. Tracks like “Sorry Daddy” and “Weirdo” have struck a chord with show-goers across the country and while it’s likely that their over the top stage show may confuse at first, you’re guaranteed to be mesmerised by the end of their chaotic set.
Bringing up the rear will be new old guys, BEERWOLF, who channel the energy, riffs and alcohol consumption of your favourite 90s punk acts. Breaking hips and hitting the pit is their business and business is good.

Hot on the heels of smashing venues around Australia with The Amity Affliction, Perth metal outfit Make Them Suffer have announced the Aussie leg of their Worlds Apart world tour. The band will be supporting their brand new album, due to hit stores on July 28 through Roadrunner Records.

Make Them Suffer have had the pedal to the metal since the release of their last album, Old Souls, in 2015. The band has toured relentlessly both at home and abroad with artists including Parkway Drive, Architects, In Hearts Wake, August Burns Red and Whitechapel, everywhere from Indonesia to Poland and in between. They found the time to get back in the studio to create Ether, a slab of churning, ethereal noise that’s about to crack 3 million streams as well as landing the band strong radio support, all the while pushing and pulling the limits of their writing behind the scenes to make something new.

To round out the bill, Make Them Suffer are bringing along American heavy hitters Wage War, whose new record Deadweight will arrive August 4 via Fearless Records after spending the last 2 years touring with Every Time I Die, A Day To Remember and I Prevail, and Melbourne maniacs Alpha Wolf, who are dropping Mono July 14 through Greyscale Records.

“Worlds Apart represents a new era for the band,” explains frontman Sean Harmanis. “It's the risks in songwriting and production taken in the past that lead us to this point. The album is a reminder to ourselves that change and growth are good things, as both have been integral to the success of this band and its identity. It's tough to say so early, but I think Worlds Apart is an album that will be in your stereo for quite some time. It's been such a crazy ride to think back to practicing our songs on mums kitchen floor. Members have come and gone, sacrifices have been made and we've quite seriously thought about throwing in the towel so many times. Our debut album Neverbloom gave us an extremely loyal following that saw us through an immense three-year gap between albums. Old Souls saw the beginning of this band and it's music starting to try new things, it also took the band out of Australia. I think with Worlds Apart we are now demonstrating our collective vision and what we’re capable of.”

Sad Grrrls Festival, Australia’s Largest music festival dedicated to promoting gender diversity in the music industry, is back for its third year running. Presented by DIY record label and booking agency Sad Grrrls Club, the festival, which last year sold out Melbourne’s Reverence Hotel and packed out Sydney’s Factory Theatre, has added a Brisbane leg to the event!

Perhaps the most significant change is the announcement of acts headlining all three dates of the festival. With secret headliners promised to be announced in the coming months, event organisers have today announced that Canberra’s Moaning Lisa, Melbourne’s Huntly, Newcastle’s Rachel Maria Cox (also the person behind Sad Grrrls Club) and labelmates Antonia & The Lazy Susans will be playing alongside stacked local line ups in each city.

Last year, Beat Magazine called it “the greatest event I’ve ever attended” and event organiser/label manager/performer Rachel Maria Cox says ‘This year there’s been a bit of a wait on the line up announcement, but I’m confident it has paid off. I’m incredibly stoked with the changes we’ve made and the line up we’ve put together and I hope everyone else will be too.”

Sad Grrrls Club Safer Spaces Invitation:
ALL SAD GRRRLS CLUB EVENTS ARE SAFER SPACES

Acknowledgement of Country
We acknowledge that this event takes place on occupied Aboriginal land of the Turrbal People of the Meanjin Nation, and we acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded. We pay our respects to the Indigenous Elders past, present and future.

What is a Safer Space?
According to the Coalition for Safer Spaces, “a safer space is a supportive, non-threatening environment that encourages open-mindedness, respect, a willingness to learn from others, as well as physical and mental safety. It is a space that is critical of the power structures that affect our everyday lives, and where power dynamics, backgrounds, and the effects of our behavior on others are prioritized. It’s a space that strives to respect and understand survivors’ specific needs. Everyone who enters a safer space has a responsibility to uphold the values of the space.”

A Safer Spaces Invitation is not perfect from the beginning and is an ever-evolving document that highlights issues as they come to the surface therefore requires constant revision. The term “safer” is used because it is understood that every individual’s perception of safety is different and no space can be entirely safe for every single individual. However, a safer spaces invitation operates on trust and we hope that we will all be aware of our own actions to ensure the safety of others and will be held accountable when we jeopardise the wellbeing of ourselves and others.

What does this mean?
As individuals, we are all responsible for our own actions and their consequences. There is zero tolerance for abusive, violent and hateful behaviour. Please be mindful of your own words and actions.

Sad Grrrls Club events strive to be free of:
-Homophobia, Transphobia, Racism, Sexism, Ableism, Discrimination & Hate Speech
-Bullying & put downs
-Illegal/inappropriate behaviour
-The usage of illicit substances on our premises and excessive intoxication on our premises
-Kicking or throwing of objects
-Abusive/threatening behaviour including verbal & physical violence

We Ask That You:
-Assess the way in which you dominate spaces; ask yourself “does my behaviour make people around me feel uncomfortable or threatened?”
-Don’t touch people without asking for their consent first
-Ask about peoples’ preferred pronouns. Sad Grrrls Fest is a gender diverse initiative therefore the way we address people can really affect them – use “they”and “their” as pronouns if you’re unsure. Don’t assume that a person adheres to the he/she binary.

What happens when someone violates the Safer Spaces Invitation?
On first instance, a staff member will issue that person with a reminder. If their behaviour continues, there will be a mediation meeting held to discuss their behaviour and how they may be helped with changing those behaviours. This meeting may be held with the organisers and venues. However, if a breach is ongoing or severe, the organisers and venue can issue people with a ban. We would like to resolve conflicts internally before having to call upon any law enforcement. Law enforcement should always be a last resort.

If you feel unsafe:
Sad Grrrls Fest Safer Spaces officers will be indicated by lanyards and wristbands. Please come and see one of these people if you require help at any point. If you would prefer to remain anonymous you can text a phone number that will be provided closer to the event date.

Bathrooms - The Brightside will ensure that the bathrooms are not gender specific on the day by updating the current signage.

Scent sensitivities - The space is not 100% scent-free. There is no smoking allowed indoors or in the outdoor bar area except for an allocated smoking space. The allocated smokers area is located at the front of the outdoor area of the venue, to the left as you enter the front gates.

2017 marks ten long years since the snowdroppers first got in a room together to see if we could learn a handful of covers to play at a burlesque variety show... London, Pauly K, Cougar Jones and Johnny Wishbone - with no idea that it would dominate our lives for the next decade.

We've seen a lot of things come and go over the years- three albums and an EP, countless tours, festivals and support slots around Australia, several overseas trips, broken bones, more long drives and airport lines than you can shake a large Big Mac meal at, and have somehow managed to come out the other side sane and still kicking.

It's this kind of milestone that tends to make a band look back with pride on all their accomplishments, thankful of all they've been able to experience and look towards the next ten years with renewed purpose and vigour!

...Not us though, we're sick of it and are going to OFFICIALLY CALL IT QUITS after one last run of shows. This is it folks, we're hanging up the suspenders, burning the banjo and putting London back in the cabinet!

To celebrate our tenth anniversary and say farewell - we'll be playing Too Late to Pray in full and a selection of our other favourites. We’ll even be releasing a very limited number of ‘Too Late to Pray’ 12 inch vinyl.

We would love to see you all one last time - don't miss it!
